Richard Kemplay - support driver/organiser

An experienced desert driver, Richard has lead vehicle-based expeditions, trips and support ops in Tunisia, Libya, Sudan, Morocco, Mali and Mauritania. Normally a 4 wheeler he returned to bikes last Winter after a long hiatus, riding Bamako to Nouakchott on a TTR, like a 'granny'! Richard has an interest in social enterprise, recently gaining a masters with distinction and is aiming to build links with projects in the region.

Nick Smith - support driver

Nick makes up the other half of the 4x4 support team coming from the UK. A vehicle operator at ease behind the controls of pretty much anything with wheels, from rusting Enfields in India to Satellite-guided combines in Canada and Land Rovers back home in the Dales. An experienced world traveller he is looking forward to adding to his long list of adventures.

UK base support & admin - Kathryn Pemberton

Another Saharan buff, Kathryn is happiest scratching for fossils on a hamada somewhere. A veteran of numerous desert trips (including some of the pistes in Salt & Gold) and a long overland jaunt with Richard in East Africa, Kathryn will be sitting this one out and providing phone and internet support from the UK.
