CONGRATULATIONS!! Kev, Tamsin, Gary and Nick back in the UK after sucessfully completing the salt & gold trading route from Chinguetti to Timbuctu. Who needs the Dakar anyway? The team reached the fabled city on 31/01/08 after more than 3,000 kilometres of sand, dune and rock.

Entry forms now available. Optional intinerary expansion to include cross country 'smugglers piste' to Timbuctu. Flights now run directly into Atar, cutting out the last remaining stretch of tarmac on the route. Sand, rock and gravel the whole way.

Here it is! Rough and ready but the thing is up and we'll build on what we have over the coming weeks.

Expedition dates confirmed. Mauritania 2008 will run from January the 12th through to February 1st (UK to UK). The transport convoy will leave the UK on the 2nd of January and return on the 15th of February (est.)
